i was gonna say it would be very beneficial to adjust it where flat level ground cruising your foot is parallel to the board then hills you just have to tilt your foot.

I Learned how valuable the foot rest is the first time I drove an A when I was 16 back in the 80's. I Made Dad's little roadster buck like a rodeo horse. HAHA The throttle pedal is so light I don't know how you could drive one very well with out the foot rest. My 30' Chevy and 22' Buick have one also.

I have really experienced that accelerator bounce in first gear. I can take care of it either with the foot rest or the throttle. I am hoping that adding shocks to the car will help that bounce.

On another note, my wife has driven the A on a few occasions, but until yesterday had never started it from a dead cold start. A situation came up where she had to move the car. I had given her some info earlier and then coached her a bit with the cell phone. Her biggest issue was that the gas shut-off is so stiff she had to use both hands to open it. Other than that, she did pretty good, although the airplane checklist would probably be a good idea!
