Resurfacing a pressure plate
Does the pressure plate need to be taken apart before resurfacing?

Re: Resurfacing a pressure plate
I am not aware of anyone resurfacing them anymore-at least in the bay area that I have found. But if the picture that I saw is correct them yes you have to dismantle it so that they can put it on a lathe.

Re: Resurfacing a pressure plate
Yes. The plate needs to be parallel to the springs, and anyone with a flywheel grinder with a turntable can do them. They are clamped to the turntable and then ground.
