I have a 40 dropped axle and I need hubs for it. Can you tell me what hubs will work on this axle? thanks, Mike
Thanks to all who replied about the hubs I need. I found a nice pair of hubs. Thanks Mike Last edited by Mike/Nebraska; 02-10-2021 at 02:24 PM. |

Re: Hubs
If you want help you need to not be a man of few words.
Work with the people that are trying to help. What spindles do you have? Do you want drum brakes? Do you want discs? Do you want early style drum brakes? Later Lincoln style? How about F1? Wide 5 bolt pattern? 5 on 5-1/2"? Can you see that you need to give up as much info as you can so you will receive good info. The easy answer if you have 37-48 spindles is you want 40 brakes and 40-48 hubs with the appropriate drums. Edit: I was typing while you were replying. |

Re: Hubs
Hubs inside the drums are 40/41(ish) I think these are available as aftermarket (repro).

Re: Hubs
And you need backing plates & drums to match which ever way you go. If it was me, I would work backwards on this. Determine the type/year of brakes I wanted, then select the backing plates and hubs to match up with them. In my case I like the F1 setup, so F1/F100 backing plates and F1 hubs & drums (this setup requires some modifications). There are several combinations that will work, determine where you want to end up and then we can help you select the parts required to get there.
