Re: adjustable lifters
I wonder if it would be possible to take a stock hollow FORD lifter, drill a hole in the top, install a screw and make it adjustable?

Re: adjustable lifters
I have had an idee for a long time making roller lifters and adjustment by using the shimwashers used in ohv engines.
Measure gap lift valve with the kr bar lift out shim insert new suitable size. That way i can manufacture a hollow lifter without to much of an challenge. Just using same guiding as iskys radius tappets. Please shime in with your thoughts...i have probably missed a few issues... |

Re: adjustable lifters
Have to come up with a cam grind. I'm not that knowledgeable on the differences in the grinds, but a cam for radiused lifters might work.

What about a bucket in side a bucket? You have a roller with a bucket on it, then shims in the bottom of the bucket then an upturned bucket that slips inside the roller bucket, the shim stack moves the inner bucket up or down to adjust the gap? Get what I meen? This would work with stock valve lengths. Crower makes roller cams, and I guess the lifters too. Martin. |

Re: adjustable lifters
Ok , last night i took an engine apart thAt i didnt built.
Potvin 425 with isky 185g springs set at 1.9inch and johnson Hollow adjustibale lifters. You could see on the cam where lifter hit the lobe after it Jumped over the roof of the cam.... My engine with 1.8 inch 185g and stock lifter follows the cam And doesnt jump ... So , lifter weight matters i guess unless you want to run massive spring pressure... |

That way i only get wear on the lifter from friction against lifterbore making it last a long time.Being a roller i can machine it in the lathe from the rollerside if i want the valveside solid. Or have an opening undre the shimdisc. |
