Differential Dust cover
For 33 Ford Tudor or Victoria, should this be fabric or steel?
I have both styles which do I use ? |

Re: Differential Dust cover
Originally, '33-'34 bodies with a seat cushion over the round opening in the rear of the floor pan (sedans, Victorias, cabriolets, phaetons, and deluxe roadsters) had the fabric and heavy wire insert while those bodies without a rear seat had the domed steel insert. No doubt there were exceptions to the design intent in actual assembly line practice.

Re: Differential Dust cover
How were these inserts fastened? Sheet metal screws?

Re: Differential Dust cover
Sheet metal screws for the steel insert, but the heavy wire hoop sewn into the perimeter of the fabric insert was formed with three protrusions that fit into matching slots in the opening in the floor pan. The wire hoop was not a complete circle, although almost so, as it had an opening to permit the hoop to be reduced in its circumference to permit it to be inserted into the slots in the floor pan.
