Carb leak question
Zenith 2 carb. Rebuilt about 2 years ago and my friend put it up on the shelf. Installed it and it leaks around the GAV. Float level is good and float valve is good. Any suggestions for a fix??

Re: Carb leak question
Brian:
The GAV is supposed to be a pipe thread, put some pipe sealer on the threads. Hopefully no one ran a straight tap through the casting and ruined the pipe threads. Tom Endy |

Re: Carb leak question
Make sure the pipe sealer is gasoline proof, like the non silicone Permatex. If you use the Teflon tape, make sure that no part of it extends further than the threads or you stand a change of clogging a jet or two.
