Default Deck Door Drain Trough...

I am wondering if all 1930-31 Roadsters and Coupes posess the "doubler" on the Deck Door Drain Trough OR not, for which the Deck Door Support Bracket is bolted to.

Anyone?

Thank you.

Are you referring to the length of angle steel that functions as a "backer" and is visible from underneath? I have one in my late 1931 coupe.

No...It is a reinforcing strap about 1/2”W x 3"L with a hole in it and is spot welded to the sheet metal trough edge which accepts the Special Bolt to fix the Deck Door (Trunk Lid) Support Bracket on the left side of the trough only and is in plain sight if it is there.

Not a very good pic, but it's there.

Marco,
I think Steve is referring to the area where the hole is for the TRUNK support bolt. I think I see the "doubler" in the extreme left side of your picture, so it appears "doublers" are installed on ALL model A coupes and roadsters, whether or not they had rumble seats.

this is what steves talking about
ive found most of them like this
some (early) ones are in the inside of the lip and are hard to see
and some like the late 68C cabriolets have just the hole,no reinforcing at all
as they never had a trunk
