interior screw tap sizes
hi guys , I have a question on my 30 tuder the panels that hold the regulater on to raise and lower the windows there are I think 7 screws that hold the panel in place what thread are they I want to run a tap thru them I think its a no8 fine , does anyone no for sure

If you don't have a thread gage you can take an 8-32UNC or 8-34UNF tap and lay the threaded part of the screw on it. When the threads nest you have the correct # of threads per inch for the tap. Then take the screw and see if it can be hand threaded in to the corresponding #8 die nut. I'm not sure but it may be a 10-32 UNC. Here's a chart. thanks tim , but its pretty hard to do if you don't have the original screws , I have a thread guage and no how to use it but if the holes are full of rust and no original screws it does little good but I think its a 10-32

not the regulater bolts the triangle shaped panel that holds it, I think theres 7
