Living a full 15 miles from the Canadian border I can say that Canadians call a couch a Chesterfield, Old Americans call it a davenport and us regular folks call it a couch. My dog calls it a bed.....

Hi DD; I heard George Carlin use that line in one of his routines years ago, Craig.

I was told by a mechanical engineer friend of mine that an engine takes a fuel and produces mechanical power from it while a motor takes one form of power (electrical) and changes it into another form of power (mechanical).

If the same fastener is used with a nut it becomes a bolt and nut.
To most mechanics they are all bolts,

also like "philips" type screwdrivers are the same ,except size. actually real "phllips" tips
are blunt at the very tip. If pointed they are Reed & Prince.

If there is a misunderstanding of what the differences is to a lag bolt and a lag screw.

A bolt usually can be defined by requiring a nut at the end of it. Fixed or integrated. A screw never does.

It's just a confusion of market branding or a public streamlining terms. Now please pass the q-tip, no not the cotton swab.
