Default Locating 1937 Ford Heater Hose

I’m replacing the rotted out heater hoses on my ’37 and don’t like how they were positioned. The driver side heater hose went from the lower radiator hose to the lower connection of the heater with the shut-off valve positioned in the middle of this long hose. The passenger side hose went directly from the cylinder head to the upper heater connection.

Would it matter if I located the shut-off valve on the passenger side instead? I don’t believe it does, but just want to make sure.

Thanks in advance for your help/advice.

Robert
