Re: My '36 is in color !
Thanks, everyone for your kind words of appreciation & encouragement. Not even one "Naysayer"- that in itself is a wondrous thing on the internet !
I'll take some new pics after it gets the final buffing, which should be done around Thankgiving.....I hope. I've had a couple of inquiries about the paint - it's a 2-stage, stock PPG epoxy color, which is called "Washington Blue". I'm not sure if it's EXACTLY the same shade as the original, but the car will be a "driver" and won't ever be judged during my life time, so it's close enough for me ! |

Re: My '36 is in color !
I have never visited the HAMB, because folks say you get 'flamed' there. Who wants that?.... I love the 'barn and I agree wholeheartedly that you have done an amazing job on this '36. I love that it won't be "judged in my lifetime". I am glad that you keep on keeping on. Drive it like you restored it.......

Re: My '36 is in color !
Maybe not quite that bad, but it is a lot faster paced with the number of post and threads it is a bit more difficult to keep up with. It also tends to be a wider age range of the posters. There is a larger knowledgeable base on the HAMB and a larger group to draw from. The flathead/early Ford guys there can provide a lot of insight. Also a wealth of information on topics such as painting, body work, shop equipment, etc.

Re: My '36 is in color !
HAMB has been a lot more civil in the last few years. Quite a few of the internet rabble rousers have been kicked off the forum which has helped. Good mixture of members and a lot of them have some amazing talent.

Re: My '36 is in color !
One of the biggest mistakes I ever made was getting rid of a 36 convertible I had back in the mid 50's. These cars were very inexpensive back then. I bought the car for 40 dollars less engine. Found a 49/50 Merc engine in a junk yard and drove it home from Mass to Wisc, and put it in storage. After i got out of service I took the engine apart for rebuild. I was married and my wife was expecting my first child so I trades it for a running model A. The car was in perfect condition, the paint was as good as if it just came from the dealer. I really loved that car, and yes it was blue. Hope it cot a good home.

As would I ! It's been all wet sanded, buffed & polished (168 hours worth) and shines like a million bucks. Now if it would stop raining and the Sun would come out, I'd get some pics of it outside, but looks like the weather will not be cooperating anytime soon. Thanks again for all the positive comments. -Bob |
