Default Lighting switch assembly

I installed a new two section metal enclosure for my original lighting terminal disk. I can’t get power to the running light wires. Using the foreign made two piece enclosure - I ground down the enclosure.035 thousands inch. as noted on the installation guide note. The lighting handle is a little hard to turn (high - low - park). What could be a solution ? Maybe the metal fork is c ringed” to high on the main shaft. it is at 6:00 and 12:00 o’clock.

I had to sand down the brass contact points to get the switch to work.
It may not be the right thing to do but it was for me.
Sand a little then try the switch. Repeat as necessary to get the switch to work.
