Default Turn signal problem

Last spring I installed a NOS DoRay FlashAll 999 turn signal unit on my Model A speedster. Unit was new in the box with instructions. Flasher was included, TungSol 535. All worked well most of the summer. Then the indicator light inside the switch came on without the turn signals being activated. If I removed the flasher it would go out, stay out for a while and come back on. Now won't go out. Everything else works well, left and right signals and hazard are all nice and bright. Flasher is loud and regular. I can't see any problem inside the switch. Is this a flasher issue? I tried a different one with the same number and had the same problem. Would an electronic flasher be better? Would a variable electronic flasher rated 6.75-15 volts work with the 6volt system? Thanks. Howie

Just for kicks try running a ground to the switch unit itself. sometimes if you don't have a good ground to a circuit it will act up...
