I usually don't like fender skirts, but that '41 looks good with them. (I always was partial to '41's anyway.)

How much for the ride of 2 cars to New Zealand? How long? How did you get the cars inspected before purchase?

Meric,

I was good meeting you this past summer. I'm glad to see your cars made it to you safely. Keep us posted on your adventures.

Congratulations. Very nice looking 1941 Ford Super Deluxe Coupe. Great to see that they are finally home. Only took six months.

@ $5600 for a 40' container including loading fumigation and paperwork etc. $1600 for road freight from Tulsa OK to Houston TX, took about 2 months on the water. These cars belonged to a friend of mine who passed away in October last year and I Helped the family get the cars running in June this year so they could be sold. I have known these cars since 1996.

The coupe had been in the same garage since 1978 but i don't know how long he had owned the '53, need to check the title. I have also purchased a '51 Convertible and a '57 Fairlane 500 Convertible from the family as well, but they are not due in New Zealand until mid February now. I am only Keeping the '41 and will be selling the others once I get them presentable and driveable.

Thanks for satisfying my curiosity about shipping costs. The price to live in paradise?

Had my friend Willis call me yesterday from NZ near Napier. I'm always amazed that it is tomorrow in NZ already. He found a bargain on wire harnesses for his woodie and wanted me to re-ship it for him. I told him of course. It is not much trouble to reship and he pays me by paypal. Willis bought a complete set of wood for his woodie from me so I've re-shipped for him several times. I appreciate he purchased the wood from me. Thru the miracle of the internet I've also talked to him in "person" via Skype.

Willis also reminded me that $NZ is only worth $0.65 USA.

Seasons Greetings.

Thanks for your interest, it can be difficult getting items shipped to New Zealand. Luckily NZ Post have a service for handling small to medium sized items, this is a service I use frequently and for larger items I have contact with an importer here that is constantly bringing containers to NZ from Long Beach in CA so I use them for large or heavy parts. It's not cheap but it works for me.

I don't suppose you, or you know of anybody that makes replacement wooden pieces that go behind the front doors (left and right) for '42 - '48 Ford Sedan Delivery's?

Don't know about the wood. Is the wood visible? Picture? I'll ship Willis his wiring harness in a USPS flat rate box. I have to fill out a simple form and go to the PO to make sure it is correct. Print the postage out on internet.

To New Zealand:
USPS-Produced Box: 8-5/8" x 5-3/8" x 1-5/8" is $36
USPS-Produced Box: 13-5/8" x 11-7/8" x 3-3/8" or 11" x 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" $79
USPS-Produced Box: 23-11/16" x 11-3/4" x 3" or 12" x 12" x 5-1/2" $99

The wood is not visible as it fits behind the pillar, follows the contour of the of the body and is flush with the inside edge of the pillar. It is held in place with tacks down the inside of the pillar and threaded inserts at the bottom so it can be bolted at the bottom, also the wooden frame work for the rear interior is screwed to it, all of which then support the inner board lining for the rear compartment. I hope this all makes sence
