If you want it to roll correctly, its got to be exact. And the cam gear has to pass through it.

I think its 7" or 7-1/4" from what i remember.

Got a quote for getting 20 sets made up a few weeks ago. Cost would be $300.00 per set, asked about 30 or 40 sets and am waiting for that pricing. For 40 sets they thought $255.00 per set but that is not official. If there is enough interest for at least 20 sets I would be willing to get 40 made up thinking the rest would sell as well. Chime in if there is still interest in these given the cost involved and I'll keep pursuing this. GaryU

To be clear, you are just getting all the mounting stuff made. The angle iron stand will need to be made up by the user, correct?

If someone has a set to get approximate weight I would appreciate that as until they are constructed I have no idea as what they will weigh. Shipping would be done by myself as I have an unlimited supply of boxes etc. and a Fedex office less than a mile from my work. I also have an account there so shipping would be cost only.

Tim, yes these prices are only for the adapters. The problem all comes down to constructing the large ring for the front adapter, if not for that they would be far less costly. Each ring would be made from stock and milled to basically original size and the material cost is the issue. One thing to consider is a catalog posted on Fordcollector.com shows that in 1967 the same adapters were selling for just over $100.00 so what would people be willing to pay for something that currently doesn't exist?

Are they starting with a piece of bar stock, then machining it to size?

As I understand it yes, starting from a solid piece of steel and machine to size. If this was not the procedure the price would be far less. As far as pics, my plan was to get the first made and post pictures and also the weight for shipping. A fellow Barn member recently contacted me because he is having the Clayborne data plates remade for his stands as well as extras. Look for those coming to the swap meet in the near future.

Cheaper to roll a band then wrap the edges with 3/8" square. Atleast thats the way im making mine. Simple enough to chuck it up in the lathe and true it up for those high speed rotations.

Man, that sure does look like something near 10" pipe to me. Cutting slices out of something like that would be easier than scratchin' yur butt, and I can only imagine Clayborne back in the day working on the "KISS" principle. Anyone with a real one have a diameter dimension? DD

Inside of the yoke is 7-1/2".

ID of the adapter has to be big enough for the cam gear to clear.

7" schedule 40 pipe is 7.625 OD / .301 wall. Schedule 80.is .500

I have a short piece of 7" schedule 40 and still think rolling a band out of 3/16" flat bar is easier. 7" pipe is not the easiest thing to find and i got just enough to make 2 of them. Flatbar is cheap and plentiful.

Turning one out of barstock seams like a lot of shop time for a slow shop. Unless they have something like a extra extra heavy wall pipe that can be turned to size fairly quickly

Timing gear is roughly 6-5/8"
Roll a 7" ID ring out of 1/4" flatbar then true it up in a lathe i think would be more economical.
