what is the diameter of the front crankshaft pulley?

My 1950 Merc wide belt pulley is 5 1/2 in.
It's the same as this.

thank you sir for the reply back.i am having trouble getting the fan belt to go over the pullies. i ordered the belt from mac's and it is 55 inches long but still will not work. any suggestions?

I have bone stock 35 21 stud in my '33 and I had to go to a 56" belt.Bought it on EBAY.The Gates # B53,Dayco # BP53,Goodyear # B53(5L220)

You can try unbolting the generator fully and refitting it with the belt in place. I have found also that it is sometimes easier to put the belt on one of the water pumps last, it goes over that pulley easier than the generator pulley.

It´s the size of the generator pulley that makes the difference.
Sounds about the same sizes i keep at hand B52 and B53 for the pumps and B35 for separate fans.
