Decking a model a block

is there a process that one must follow to properly deck a model a block?
need help understanding what to do.i have my own machine shop just need
the information.

If you are doing just a skim cut to return the deck to a flatness across its surface , a water grinder with enough travel in the X axis and a height that you can get the wheel up to, even if you use a well worn and small grinding wheel should do it. Just check that block is relatively parallel across the top, not tipped resting on burrs in the pan rail area. Good luck.

Yep I have done a couple of T block on our Blanchard grinder at work. Just make sure you have no burs on the bottom and dont grind the bottom 1st as you move the center line of the crank.
