Default 1931 Roadster Rumble Seat Panel Brace?

In looking at the Fordwood website they show a wood Rumble Seat Panel Brace (left and right) for the coupes and sport coupes, but not for the roadsters and cabriolets. I assume these were used to attach the rumble seat cardboard side panels to. Did the roadsters also use the wood braces and if so would they be the same as the coupe, or if not what was the panel attached to?

The '31 roadster had two steel braces on each side which the side panels were attached to.

Go to www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?p=847774 and look at post #12 to see a photo of these braces. If you are in the forum, it's listed under a thread started 3/25/14 titled "put 3 point retractable seat belts in roadster"

Thank you for the reference to the thread on seat belts and the photo in post #12 of that thread. In looking at the photo #4 which shows the brace between the two vertical supports it sure looks like a strip of wood to me, but if it's steel it looks to be about a quarter inch thick by 2 inch wide "bar" stock. Does that sound right?

My 31 is original. Those braces are wood. Looks like oak, but might be ash. 1/4 inch thick. 1 1/4 wide.

One more dimension ... length is 24 and 3/4 inches. Hope this helps.

Sorry I misunderstood..... Thought you were referring to the upright supports which are steel. The horizontals are 1/4" wood as Girl w/Wrench notes and as shown in my photo. My panels were attached to the horizontal wood strip as well as to the two steel upright braces but don't know if my setup is original or retrofit.

Okay, sorry for the confusion and thanks for the clarification. I sent an email to the Fordwood forks to see if they think the coupe wood brace they make would work on the roadster.
