Default Polished combustion chambers?

Is there anything to be gained by polishing the combustion chambers on Offy heads?

Yeah, the exhaust from your tailpipe will come out real shiny.

If anything I believe the cast chamber would aid in mixing the charge - so no - polishing the internal head would in my opinion not be advantages - porting and polishing the block ports is another story as it aids in flow IMHO.

And smo-o-o-o-o-oth, too! (Sorry, just couldn't resist)

Seriously, I doubt that there are any advantages to polishing the combustion chambers as long as there are no major irregularities that could get hot, glow and cause pre-ignition. I believe that's very unlikely. FWIW

It will look so keen when you get done that you won't care about the 30 extra horsepower it gives.

Okay guys, I get it! Looks like it's gonna be a long winter, was looking for some busy work. Maybe I'm spending too much time in the garage.
