What a collection. If I were rich I'd like the highboy roadster with the stainless top.

'32's aren't really my bag, but this one does something for me!

Another good tip-off by Mart. I really liked pages 4 and 7. All those open cars have really minty tops!

Not a fan of OHV in these cars, but did you see the words "special 302 Ford experimental Hemi?"

Jeff,

Gene is the fifth owner of that standard V8 Tudor sedan. I purchased it from the original owner who traded in a Model A on it back in '32. I reluctantly let it go to Mr. Secrest in Oklahoma and he gave a very good home. After his death, it went to a collector further west who was less respectful of its condition and it subsequently ended up with Gene. It's now missing its original factory fabric and stainless steel spare tire cover and the engine compartment is a mess compared to the way the original owner maintained the car. It was put up on blocks in the fall and put back in use each spring so it never experienced winter weather, at least with its first three owners. When the original owner washed the car, he did the undersides of the fenders, running boards, and hood. I have never seen another '32 as pristine as this car when the owner decided to sell it in the late '60s due to declining health.

Wow DavidG, That's a lot to try to unpack.

I was BORN in 1960. So if I read correctly, this was your car sometime before I joined Cub Scouts! That's pretty amazing.

If the owner traded his Model A in for it, then he had excellent taste and instincts! It sounds like he knew he had a good 'un and respected it.

I can also read that you're not a fan of it's current condition. Hope it gets a loving home because it's got gobs of charm from the pictures.

Let's see how many others are charmed, and how far their bank account agrees with their eyeballs? There better be A LOT of heavy hitters on this auction and the sellers should really expect it, because there is an impressive inventory going out the door here. Mecum seems to be a little outside their wheelhouse?

That is definitely an impressive set of 32's, I would love to have that pickup but I see why the prices are high. If those cars were cheap, they would be bought and cut up into hot rods. I have hot rods too but they were already cut up but I would love to own a beautiful stocker too.

I'm glad I was able to see these cars together at Gene's before they're scattered across the country.

Wow, it was quite a nice collection. Didn't Gene have a "nice" cache' of 32 parts, accessories and other 32 memorabilia?? IS that going to be part of the auction?

He does indeed, but they're not going to auction, at least not this one.
