Default Moonshine Cruis in

I hear threre is a moonshine cruis in in Dawsonsville, Ga and another in Hiawasee, Ga. One in the end of July, the other the end of October. For those of you that have been to either or both, which one is the best to see a lot of flathead cars. I heard that one is filled with '39 and '40 Ford coupes ( my all time favorite cars). Since I am about 400 miles from either and can't go to both, which would you reccommend for me. Thanks....Nick

Nick as stated Dawsonville in October bring the wife bring the kids. I have attended several times ridding my M/C up. I would love to take the 39 this year if I can get it running better seems to be stumbling right now. I go one way and the wife goes another plenty to see and do.

The Moonshine festival in Dawsonville, GA is the big event with lots of old Fords. This event has really gotten big over the last few years. Come early and be prepared in long traffic lines comming into this little town.

The Cigar City Flatheads have been driving our Flatheads up to Dawsonville every October from Tampa, FL for a good number of years, to attend the Moonshine Festival (we missed last year's event due to scheduling conflicts). I have never been to the Festival in Hiawassee so, I can't give you a comparison but, I can tell you that you will get your fill of '39 and '40 Fords in Dawsonville.

The weekend of Oct 22nd. I always go on Thursday but there's really not much goin on till Friday. You'll probably have a tough time finding a motel in Dawsonville , we always stay at the Comfort Inn but it was already booked up when we left last year for this year. You could give them a call though. Also check in Dalonega and Cumming. They about 15 miles in either direction from Dawsonville.

Nick - Been to both; October absolutely the way to go. Quarters available, just be willing to drive a bit: beautiful countryside anyway!! Hiawassee an excellent choice. Might also consider Helen - looks like a Swiss or Alpine Village. Say hello to our boys from the Mule Barn and JFK Center.......
