Default banjo wheel

Hello to everybody, wondering if there is any way to fix a crack along the key way in the center of a banjo wheel, and will this crack affect anything. As always Thanks for your help.

I think you better turn that into a "wall-hanger" and look for another wheel. Thoes wheel hubs are some kind of cast metal.

Not a good idea to use this wheel. Eventually it will crack all the way through at the most inopportune time.

You could have a new keyway cut 120 degrees off. Still not great. Might work if you can stop drill the crack. The center is steel as the spokes are welded to it. You could bevel the old keyway out for access and have a fast bead of mig layed in the groove?

I agree with the others. Get a new wheel and put that one on the wall.
