That way, both the pin and body are pressed simultaneously. The other end fits nearly size for size within the "far end" of the tool. That bushing is relieved so it fits nearly size for size within the perch and spring ends. Of course, the inside of this bushing is relieved to allow the pin to enter it during installation.
