Default drilling holes in the flywheel

i might have to drill some new mounting holes in my flywheel to except a new bolt hole pattern for a 10" long pressure plate. i have heard of guys doing this, wount this throw off the balance on the flywheel?....

If you get it centered exactly and drill and tap all the holes exactly the same you shouldn't mess up the balance . A drill press with a stop would be a good idea for getting the holes all the same . David J

when you drill & tap it you have to have a counter sink for the special shoulder bolts get the proper bolts & mike & measure them so you do the job right

this is how I did it, jig drilled a transfer drill fixture. I don't see how balance can be effected when the new pattern is equally spaced from the old one.

The change of pressure plate will put it out of balance. You need to rebalance with a new PP.

Gotta be CONCENTRIC. My comfort level is using a milling
machine and a center spindle. If you are located near western New
York I'll do it for free.
