Gas Tank Cutaway Photos

I have some photos by Brent Terry of cutaway gas tanks. Are there any others available for posting here. I am building a presentation for my Model "A" club about gas tanks and I need more photos of cutaway tanks.

The two halves were welded while submerged originally. We cut them thru the center of the factory weld.

The side to side baffles are original, not added on by someone. How else would the weight of the gas pushing aside to side in a car not effect steering and performance??
10 gallons of gas would weigh 80 lbs or more. A lot of weight for an unrestricted tank

The newest edition of the Model A News magazine, shows a guy's gas tank that had had some kind of crap sprayed or sloshed around on the inside, probably in the 70's or early 80's before Ethanol, to coat the tank, the junk came loose, and it was blocking the fuel outlet in the tank.

Looked like Granny's undies piled on the car's seat after he took it out of the gas tank. When you see the stuff you say to yourself 'What the ----------?'

I guess I need to clarify ---- I'm not talking about the baffles that run front to back in the tank and, therefore, prevent side to side sloshing of fuel. See post number 3 ----- there appear to be baffles in that pic that run side to side in the tank and would prevent front to back sloshing of the fuel. I've only seen those baffles in that pic. Were those baffles that run left to right in the tank original by Ford?

I have at least 1 30/31 tank with the top cut off at my shop. If you want to photograph it feel free to come over. OR, if you want to, you can take it home and do what you want at your leisure.

If I recall correctly, the front to back baffles were added for 1930/1931. 1928/1929 only had side to side baffles. Brent Terry posted some really interesting gas tank pictures a couple of months back.

Thanks ----- looks like all the baffles were original Ford at one time or another.

I need pictures of the interior yank at the locations of the steering support and the shutoff valve in 1928-'29 and in 1930-'31 tanks. Thank you Brent and all of the others who contributed to this post.
