Default 1952 f1-head gasket,239

I was having some white smoke and exhaust pipe changed sorta different color…..anyway I got some new fel pro gaskets…..took old heads off and the passenger side water ports some were covered totally over by the old head gasket,no holes nothing,even you could see where the water was pushing against gasket…..looks original gasket….any suggestions..why???

ford tried restricting the water flow at the front of these blocks to push more water thru the rear of the block--tiny holes in front larger holes in rear, but since there are left/right side gaskets who knows why there are completely closed
