Chris,
I'm looking forward to seeing your truck in Dearborn in about 4 weeks from now at the Grand National Meet. I'll try to see if I can spot the "upgrades" since Franklin, TN last year.

Dave,
Yes hope to visit with you at the show.
Have about 300+ miles on the rebuilt engine. Starting and running good for 91 year old truck. Went for a joy ride tonight as the temps are in mid 60's.
If we get the chance you can drive the truck if you would like.
Funny I just found the note you wrote me on wheels and years!
I did modify the starter cable system. Just removed the wound sheath which was moving with the cable. Added a return spring to move the starting lever back to the home position. I know I will "get points deducted" but it functions better.
Regards,
Chris

Chris,
I'd love the chance to drive your truck - thanks for offering.
I don't think you have to worry too much about the judging standards for your truck. It's likely to be the only '32 truck on the show field. I got a note from DavidG who says he will unlikely finish his wonderful '32 pickup in time for the GNM. It would have been fun to see your truck and his side by side for quite a size and shine comparison.
See you in less than 4 weeks.
Dave

Dave, folks,
Calling all early Ford trucks!!! Would be nice to see a half dozen or more there. Also Ford tractors too!!
I am sure there are some out there.
As far as the shine! Well David will have me in that category!
Regards,
Chris

Folks,
I have read the instructions for the hydrostatic gas gage several times. Mine is still not operational. It reads about 3/8 tank when full.
So one of the methods for checking the small line is ok is to use a hand pump to purge it.
I am open to suggestions from experts.
Regards,.

Folks,
Went to local car show with Cheryl last night. Parked. Went in to eat. Waitress came over and ask if we had a maple truck, and that it had drifted backwards until someone stuck a big rock under the rear tire! Guy next to us said he stuck the rock under the back of the 32 dump. I paid for his and his wife's supper. I will try to chock it in future.
It gently ran over one of our folding chairs, no real damage. That could have ended way worse.
I had the parking brake on but not in gear or got bumped??
Regards,
Chris and Cheryl

Picked up a set of these when they were $5 each at HF a few years back, tied them together with a rope and throw them in my trunk.

Mark, Corvette8n,
Yes supper was good! Enjoying visiting with others. Lots of young folks with fresh cars. Like in the 90's or even newer.
Chocks are on the list. I have some big wooden ones.
Regards,
Chris and Cheryl

Parked in either 1st or reverse it really should not roll unless on a very steep incline, or very low compression. Fresh motor we know, so was it steep? Good thing someone caught it before it hit something expensive !!

Cas,
Some how got out of gear?? That's how accidents happen for sure. Would have just ruined our day if the truck had rammed into a car. The parking brake was working but I may not have it full on. Truck had moved about 5 feet before some one stuck a rock under the rear wheel.
Hot here. Well about 90! That's hot for us. Had to hor wire the AC unit tonight. Lost the connection plug in the house work last year!
Cleaned some items out of the bed of the truck to get ready for a couple shows here, and the grand nationals.
By the way I have been busy like all of us now that good weather is here
Translate that ; I am not on here much and pictures being loaded are few and far between and my picture system is just not working well or fast!
Regards,
Chris and Cheryl

Ford Folks,
Just a brief update as Cheryl and I are busy every day with something, we think is important. She has been traveling with me a lot. Car shows, tractor pulls, lots of dinners and family events.
We are looking forward to kicking back and visiting with folks at the V8 Grand nationals next week too. We have signed up for the Motor Muster on June 17 also.

Is the "ragged ol' truck" ready? Well it should be in much better shape for the show. At this point I believe I have completed most of the items for improving the drive ability of the 91 year old dump truck. Thanks for all the support along the way. Hope we can do some test drives.
Hope to see you there.
Regards,
Chris and Cheryl

Chris,

I'm looking forward to seeing both you and Cheryl next week. Maybe we can take a little spin in your truck like we did in Franklin, TN last year.

David, And others,
Not sure of the logistics but we should be able to have several ride and drive things if allowed?
Just ready to load it for our local AACA car show tomorrow. Then head towards Dearborn on Monday. About a 5-6 hour trip for us.

By the way it has been two years since we brought this truck home! Lots of fun and new friends along the way! Thanks to Ryan here at the Ford Barn for keeping a good forum going!
Regards,
Chris and Cheryl

Folks,
Well several folks were able to test ride the 32 Ford dump truck during the show. Folks that know more about these trucks than me, said it drove ok. I will try to get some pictures up.
Regards,
Chris and Cheryl

Chris - It was great to see you and Cheryl at the GNM. Thanks again for letting me drive your truck! It was great fun and inspiration to get mine completed so I can return the favor. I posted a few pics from the show.

Chris, I got to ride in the truck with Michael Driskell driving. It was fun. What a great truck it is. This truck has risen to celebrity status. Thanks also for the maple syrup!
