Default Oil filler tube direction

With the baffles inside the tube, which side of the oil filler tube faces out?

The tube should have a flange formed in the lower end that seats against the block. The top end is rolled for an edge that accepts the oil cap.

I was able to gather which end was up, I was referring to the baffle direction as they could be installed rotated in any amount.

The baffles are designed to act as an air oil separator to lower oil vapor emissions from the filler cap. It looses effectivity as blow by increases. The half circle baffles are angled down toward the crankcase so that oil will catch and drip back down into the sump.

Are you fabricating a tube or repairing one?

Installing in an engine. Originally it was installed in seemingly a random position. If I read that correctly the opening on the top baffle would be face outward from the engine?

The bottom baffle is angled away from the block to help keep oil spray from entering the tube
