Default Ratchet Nut

What size it the ratchet nut on a 37 Flathead? I am going out to the farm this afternoon to get pic's (forgot my camera yesterday) and check over the engine on the 37 pu I brought home yesterday. The guy I bought it from said it ran good 14 years ago when they parked it. I could not get my hand crank to line up as things have settled enough that it is not possible as well as the grill is really bent which is likely not helping. Going to take my breaker bar and a socket, just need to know what size as I do not want to take half the tool box with me. Thanks Rod

Same as an A, thats great. Thanks for the info. Now for another question. Will a 38 hood and grille fit the a 37? Was planning on selling the 37 in pieces, but if this engine is free and I buy the 38 I am going to look at I may keep the 37 and sell the uneeded pieces from the 38 instead. Then drive the 37 basicly as is with parts from the 38 on it. Thanks Rod

The hood on an early-production '38 with a 21-stud motor probably will fit.

If you are talking about a 37 pickup and a 38 pickup, none of the body parts will interchange.

Thanks guys went and checked it out. Engine turns over. But doing an honest evaluation of the pickup, too much for me to take on right now. It will need a better frame or atleast alot of work to this one. Wiring is too far gone also With everything else I have going on, best to part both of them out. With the post above saying nothing will interchage body wise, that just reinforces things for me. Rod
