Default Battery

How many amp battery 12 volt do i need for my 1948 flathead to turn it over.

Get the one with the most amps for the size you want. Nothing like having more power than you usually need (and that goes for horsepower too). The extra, if any, may come in handy in a emergency situation.

I think that a stock flathead motor will need around 600-650 C.C.A ( cold cranking amps ) to start. I am trying to remember but being a senior, remembering isn't on the top of the list.
Now if the motor is built you will need more cca. Yuo might also check into those dry cell batteries. They are smaller in size but will do the job.
