YES, if you keep an eye on the 'fluids' and are comfortable with the mechanics of the car making the 'round trip' (especially the RADIATOR) then DO IT!

The MOST important thing from my long distance experience is having a good radiator AND a 'leakless' water pump. Eliminates your over-heating concerns. Still, carry extra gallons of WATER and OIL.

NEXT, change your oil before you go and (add a quart of LUCAS OIL STABILIZER). I realized a 30 degree lower temperature over distance after doing this.

Using 'State' and 'County' roads where the speed limit is 45 to 65 addresses your concern and a safety issue as well. Your average speed of 45 to 55 mph will be perfect for the Model A (Zenith carb).

PRECAUTION - DO take an extra cushion of some kind to sit on. DO use a seat-belt / with chest restraint, and DO keep a pillow between your chest and the steering wheel. AND if someone is riding with you, the same thing - seat belt w/ chest restraint and pillow ready in lap.

It should be a GREAT journey

That is the problem I had for years when O bought my Tudor from my Grandmother. I didn’t drive it over 8 miles from home for 15 years. Now I have a t-5, 6-1 Snyder head, and a 97. It is amazing, I tried a FSI distributor but it was nothing but problems even they couldn’t figure it out so I went back to points. I do have juice brakes because mine needed a lot of parts and it was about the same money and my Wife wanted me to get them so she will ride in it now. It is a sweet cruiser at 68 mph. My grandfather also had a Vicki with an I line overdrive and a b motor it would run about the same. My Great Uncle Roy Frost has his own overhead made and ran 97s, overhead and f150 Od in a lot of stuff. My next engine will be an overhead, some of that is frowned upon it is what it is. 50 shouldn't be a problem as long as you can stop.

My Mail Truck and I made about 450 miles in 2.5 days. We averaged 40 mph through some mountainous backroads. The truck is a ‘31, I’m a ‘48. Had a blast. Seating was a bit cramped but tolerable. I stopped every hour or two to stretch, gas up and sightsee.
