Default What is this for?

I have a EAB block. It has a grease fitting on the drivers side- just above the oil pan- about 6" from the back of the block. What is it for??? What would need to be greased when all that oil is in there??? Jerry

Sounds like what should be the filter return line. Temporarily blocked with a grease zerk for storage?

CAS3 has got it - somebody grabbed a zerk fitting to block the 1/8 NPT oil filter return line hole.
