You have the correct size.

I understand the the Firestone 4.75 x 19 tires are a little larger than the others.

That’s is the correct size so why change ? Keep your car as original as possible.

Maybe slightly larger profile, still correct for the car. if you have side mounted spares they are snug in the well. I like the look of the Goodyear tires, The Montgomery Ward tires had the best tread design in my opinion, it was being reproduced for some size of tire, T I think. Sears zig-zag tread was period correct. It was found on an economy tire. Similar with the Insa Premier, these were treads used by major tire manufactures like Goodyear and Firestone.

If you are buying a whole set, I would spend the money and get radial tires.

Just my opinion.

If you’re not going to tour I wouldn’t invest in the radial tires. It is a significant expense and you immediately give your A a hot rod appearance. Others may well disagree !

I have radials on my 19" and you can not tell they are radials.

I agree with Fried. If you are going to be buying a set of new tires you would be foolish not to get radials. The ride difference is much better.

I guess if you are a point car you might have to stay with biased.

I have worn out 2 sets of Firestone tires. My latest buy was Goodyear tires. I like Goodyear tires much better than Firestone tires as they hold the road better and your A will have reduced wandering. In other words, they take you straight down the road.. A little more expensive than Firestones but worth it.

A bit more than "snug". The previous owner of my pickup (left fender well) put Firestone on it. When inflated I can't push the tire down into the well, and if I deflate, insert and then inflate I can't move it out. So I carry it deflated and have a 12V air compressor and a power brick to inflate if I need it. My suggestion to anyone who has a fender-well spare is don't even consider Firestone.

My 550R19 radials fit the fender well better than the 475x19 Firestones did. Ride a whole bunch better as well.

For those with radial ties, how would you describe the ride, other than better. Does it track better, less wondering, smoother ride, better handling?

With a town sedan, I know what you don’t want. I had the low cost tires from Vietnam and the yaw was so severe, I could hardly drive it. With a little steering input, my quail moved left and right3 or 4 inches each way. Very bad. I put Firestones on and that fixed it.

Yes, it tracks better, less wondering, smoother ride, better handling on corners.

WOW! A 1930 Town Car. RARE BIRD! I prefer to keep them original. A Model A was never meant to drive and ride like an Eldorado.

Your radials don't look like radials ! What brand, size are they, I'am going to put radials on soon ! My late 31 Tudor sways in the wind and body rolls turning corners.

Here are the radial whitewalls.

I believe they have blackwalls too.
