Default 53 pickup kup3speed floor shift into a 46 pickup

What, if any, mods are required to put a 53 pickup 3 speed floor shift into a 46 3 speed floor shift pickup?
Thanks
John

Maybe you should click on this link BELOW and start reading at Post #12. '53 truck sounds like a real oddball, and this swap (as you contemplate) could turn into a real disaster. To start with, you're talking about two totally different transmissions, not to mention the bellhousing differences. DD

Thanks for the info Coop. I just read that post.Sounds like I would be headed for a can of worms. Looks like the best approach is to pull the 46 transmission and rebuild it. It now pops out of second and has a bad sound in first (broken tooth?). MacVp's book will now be getting more greasy pages.
Thanks again
John
