Default Door, long or short?

How do you tell the difference between the LONG or SHORT doors for '46-'48 coupe doors?

Short ones are short and long ones are long. The roof line on a short door coupe is swoopier. It may be that the short doors re the same length as a 4 door door and the long doors are the same length as a 2 door door.
Sorry can't supply dimensions to check the length.

First thing I noticed about my '47 Sedan Coupe after years of driving '40 coupes was when getting out of the car I no longer bumped my sholder but went directly to my feet beside the car. The rust free California car quickly became sought after by foreign buyers and now is in Sweden. That was a long door car. Many prefer the sleek appearance of the short door. Good Motoring: Fred A

The 'business' coupe has shorter doors than the standard/deluxe coupe.

here's the long door for comparison.

The wheelbase and the fender locations are the same between the blue and red cars pictured.
The relative proportion of door to quarter panel is quite different. Personally I find the short door version more pleasing. I had a 46. It was a nice car.

I’ve heard the terms “long door & short door” a number of times and always wondered myself. The pics definitely clear it up.......Mark

The sedan coupe (6 passenger) obviously has the longer doors to accommodate entry/exit of the rear seat, as well as a longer roof line for head room for rear seat passengers.
