Default 32 brake lever sector dimension

I would like to modify a Model A brake lever sector to use on a 32. The A part has the pivot hole 1.75” below a line thru the mounting holes. I need the dimension for a 32. Thanks!

See post #8 in the thread "32 emergency brake lever" further down the first page in this forum showing the Model A and '32 sectors side by side. If the pawl has been punched out of your Model A sector, it looks as though there isn't room for the hole you wish to make.

I was not going to move the lever pivot hole. I was thinking of moving the mounting holes down. I think I can play with the photos by cutting out the shape of the 32 sector and compairing it to the A sector. The A lever is in bad shape so I am not working with a rare desirable part.

I have an original complete '32 E brake handle. See thread below. Can you sketch which exact dimension you need and I can measure it. Tom

Tom, I would like you to put a straight edge across the centers of the two mount holes and measure to the center of the pivot hole. It looks like it is a small distance. It does not need to be super accurate. Thanks

Andy I can do this for you. Give me 10 mins.

Ok.

My best guess would be 1/8". The center bolt is 1/8" above the mounting holes.

In the pic the center bolt is centered on the edge of the wood bench top.

Thanks, That is perfect.
I finally realized what the funny lighting hole in the middle is.
That is where the paul was stamped out!
I would love to help you sometime if I can.

While you're looking, please note which side the teeth are on, which precludes moving the mounting holes as there is only thin air where they would move to on the Model A sector in replicating the '32 hole pattern.
