Re: STOLEN RODSTER north of Denver
Too bad there is not more info on the recovery. Here is my guess. If the restaurant did not have cameras then the buildings around it did so watching the comings and goings can easily spot the thief.
That said having an extra phone hidden in the car with a find my phone app will track your car if it goes missing. No need to pay a company who will only share info with law enforcement. It becomes your information. I imagine you could also set up a camera connected to the internet through the phone to watch your car. Yes it involves another phone but that's a small price to pay. You can use it for other stuff when your car is securely locked at home.

Re: STOLEN RODSTER north of Denver
A battery cutoff switch is a very good and inexpensive theft deterrent. Most thieves can't take time to diagnose a car that is unable to start. At our shop we disable any vehicle that is outside after hours. We got smart after an owner came back after we closed with a spare key. The repair bill was well over a thousand dollars and neither the vehicle or the owner were ever found, even though it was reported stolen.

Re: STOLEN RODSTER north of Denver
Such great news.. Here you'd have to hold the cops had and show them where it was before they'll do anything . They are to busy hiding behind bushes collecting revenue Pfft!!

Re: STOLEN RODSTER north of Denver
Back in the 40's my uncle always put a grounding switch under the dash to the dissy. Good move. He also taught me to never leave the key in the car. My ex left the keys in a 348 tri-power '58 Chebby convert... Very lucky as the ran it out of gas and took only the box of tomatoes on the seat

Re: STOLEN RODSTER north of Denver
There are cameras everywhere. Be hard to move a car in a metro area free of some sort of record. Some say it's bad. I don't mind it.
I don't have a Alexa though. I tend to bitch, hahaha. . all good. Glad you got your car back, if I understand right. Last edited by Tinker; 07-07-2019 at 10:51 PM. |

In reference to post #18. Very bad habit indeed, however, in Duane's defense, this was at a club function a few years back.
Nothing but club members in the parking lot, and always some one monitoring it. |
