Thanks for the link- beat me to it! I bought mine through JEGS as I was planning on my first trip to a car show, and wanted to get the tool overnighted so I could do before I left. I ordered this on an evening around 5pm and received it 8am the next day - plenty of time to do the adjustments and SAFELY without the death wobble make it to the show.

THANKS for this post. I had occasion to take an 83 year old current Model A owner in my 1929 Roadster. When I stopped the car shook like crazy. I kind of had gotten used to it. He read me the riot act and I found this post. I watched the video and bought the tool at Jegs. I was afraid I was going to get into stuck cotter pins, and rusted together parts but with PB Blaster, heat, and a screw driver lightly tapped into the pinch clamp for the tie rod everything went smoothly. The car stops so much better now....WOW is all I can say and again thanks for posting. It's so important we post our adventures so others can learn. This post really inspired me to do it and helped so much.

Who ever came up w/the term "death wobble"? Years ago we just said shimmy.

I guess that term comes from the motorcycle world. Worn components can cause the same effect on a bike, but it's much more dangerous for obvious reasons.

I'm going to local club meeting next week, maybe someone will have the tool for rent or lend. The 30 I drive has a bad shimmy...death wobble, whatever.
Paul Shinn is great for my amateur wrench turning. I just watched the video, it looks easier than I thought.

The tool is in stock at Jegs. Perhaps more $ but fast and exact as in video. Very nice to use. The hardest part for me was getting the old cotter pins out. I sprayed the tie rod ends and put a screwdriver in the pinch clamp and very gently tapped it. I moved the tie rod end with the screwdriver and the end and tie rod got nice and easy / loose to adjust .

I'd been meaning to order the gizmo that Paul Shinn recommended in his video (he provided a link) and used this thread to do so - link is https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00I5KPDLI...roduct_details. When I got the shipping confirmation it showed that it was being shipped from a company named "TOYS FOR TRUCKS INC.". So what's not to like about that?
