Default Engine Stand Adapter

Hello all and happy new year. Over the holidays, I picked up a spare engine. I tried to order an engine stand adapter but it looks like it is out of stock everywhere I looked. Does anyone know of any sources that might have these available ? Thanks in advance.

They have been out of production for several years now.

Funny that you should ask. We needed several in-house for our own use so we drew them up in CAD and made our own on our CNC plasma. We might look at making a few more in the next week or so if several others were interested in having one made.

Hello Dennis - I had already reached out to them and they aren’t really in stock, web site glitch. They said they’d have some by early summer though.

Hello Brent, I’d be interested too. Please send me a direct message with a price if you don’t wish to publish here. Thanks !

An alternative technique is to mount an engine to a stand using the back of the block, so no adapter is necessary.

It depends what procedure you're doing. Can't remember offhand, but there's a calibration procedure when installing the flywheel that requires you to put the engine nose-down. That's why the original KRW engine stand mounted to the side.

Kinda hard to check the runout on the Flywheel Housing, and to mount the Clutch & PP to the flywheel, isn't it?? I sure wouldn't want to assembly engines without a proper stand.

The thrifty (and we know who we are) make their own from angle iron.

The ones they have been selling, should have been made so you can get a wrench on the cap nut easier and more room to turn the wrench. It is kinda tight to get in there.

That is why I made my adapter. Heavier steel and adequate room for a torque wrench and socket in that middle main. Plus I have a larger engine stand that requires a bigger pipe.

What diameter is the pipe on the common adapter?
