Sand Blast Cabinet Gloves ???
Does any one have a source of top Quality / long lasting Gloves.
This is not a Dig or put down of this Supplier but I have been getting my Gloves from T P Tools & Equipment. I tend to ware the left one out being right handed I hold the part in that hand in my left hand. That being said in the past I would get 4 to 6 Weeks out of the left glove. Now in the last 2 sets I am getting less then 1 to 1 1/2 weeks out of them. the Gloves look and feel of the same Quality but results speak different. To be fair to T P I have not talked to them yet and will today Because of the time now it being to early to call I thought ( not that may be a " MISTAKE : ) I would ask here and hope to get a answer. Price is some consideration but not a deal breaker. Once again THANKS BILL W |

Re: Sand Blast Cabinet Gloves ???
If you hold the part in your gloved hand while blasting you are gonna eat thru the gloves no matter what.
To get my gloves to last we either set the part on a pedastal of some sort (an old kitchen pot works well as a sturdy platform OR for the smaller parts we use an old pair of channel-lock pliers to hold the part. Keeps the glove out of harms way. I get a couple years on a pair of gloves.

Re: Sand Blast Cabinet Gloves ???
I have a TIP cabinet and the gloves are several years old and still in good condition. Could be they have changed to China for a source. How about wrapping the fingers on the left glove with duct tape and wearing out the duct tape instead of the glove?

Re: Sand Blast Cabinet Gloves ???
Try DeLong Equipment Co 404-607-1234. They are a "ZERO" blast equipment dealer. This is an Industrial type bead blaster, not the toy type like Harbor Freight or TIP.

Re: Sand Blast Cabinet Gloves ???
+1 - Zero has great gloves. I buy them from the dealer I bought my cabinet from, if you don't have a dealer near you here's a place to buy them online. You can buy them individually. http://www.cylinderheadsupply.com/zeblcagl1.html

Re: Sand Blast Cabinet Gloves ???
The gloves I purchased 10-years ago were likely a good quality neoprene rubber and lasted pretty well untill they would ozone crack around the tube attachments. I would then use them for solvent or stripper duty. The ones we get now smell funny right off the bat and they last about a year at best before falling appart. They may have gum rubber or who knows what in there make up. The Asian manufactured stuff all smells funny if there is any rubber on it. The American corporations buy this stuff for pennies on dollar and still try to charge the same or more than they did 10-years ago. They are crapping in their own mess kit doing this practice. It will do nothing but hurt their sales in the long run.

Re: Sand Blast Cabinet Gloves ???
Thank every one.
I am going to try a glove that Yoyodyne suggested / Buying off line is still shooting in the dark on Quality. But Driving around to the local parts suppliers = Big time $$$ for gas & a whole lot of time. So I will try this brand and let you guys know how it works. A lot of other good suggestions on here I will try also / TAPE / LEATHER GLOVE (if i can find one large enough.) using a stand / vice grips / other suppliers. Lets see I think I have every one covered. THANKS AGAIN BILL W |
