Motor ID
I picked up this motor today. I was told it was out of a generator for a searchlight. Does the fuel pump mount look correct? I don't think I've seen this kind before.

Re: Motor ID
It looks more like 8BA stuff. Most of the earlier engines used the pump stand as an oil fill port.

Re: Motor ID
Pictures of the complete engine would give a lot more information as to the possible origin of the engine. At this point it looks like it has a spacer of some sort under the intake manifold.

Re: Motor ID
The pipe plug in the bell housing area looks like the block was manufactured with the Canadian oil filter / cooler setup in mind.
I have seen one set of heads with those weird protrusions cast on the ends (above the 81 mark in your second picture) like those before. I don't know their origin through. |

Re: Motor ID
Hi Guys, sorry I didn't post more photos. The motor turned out to be junk. I feel kind of embarrassed I bought it. I should have learned this lesson several motors ago.
Yes, it would have been a Canadian motor ready for the full flow system. |
