Default Harman Collins points part numbers???

Wondering if anyone has the Part numbers for the points used on harman Collins dual coil distributors. I am trying to find some for a Lincoln v-12 conversion and they are the same ones used in the dual coil set ups. I know they were Bendix magneto parts. Seems like pulling teeth to find out what they are or where to get them now. Any help would be appreciated!!

They are used in Bendix 20 or 200 series magnetos. I can get the number tomorrow if you still need it.

There are multiple part numbers that you can use - due to the nature of 'replacement' parts for the aircraft industry. Some of the points you can use require that you just take them apart and switch the electrical wire connection terminal around a bit.

Here are some part numbers that I've used:

The p/n 10-357174 that Flatjack9 posted in a previous post (are for a Bendix 200 series mag.) and is a good number, the points list for about $50 ea.new. another number that should work is 10-357173.

Note on Part Numbers: The true Bendix/Teledyne replacement parts usually begin with a ‘10’, while the “AB” and “ES10” versions are from other manufacturers that the FAA has approved as replacements.

Other possible numbers listed are:
ES10-357174, AB-357174, 10-89122, 10-157127, 10-163054, 10-163328, 10-357096, 10-357098, 10-357094, 10-52953, AB-357174

Shown above: AB-357174

Note: There are both platinum and tungsten points – opinions vary as to which are better in our world.

Here is some additional info to ponder:

Because they are subjected only to alternating current, magneto contacts can be made of platinum instead of the tungsten that is used for the contacts in most battery ignition systems. Platinum is expensive but it has very good electrical conductivity properties. Contacts made from it also have the advantage of high resistance to burning that might be caused by foreign matter that collects on contacts during normal ignition system operation. The advantages of platinum contacts cannot be applied to battery ignition systems because platinum is more susceptible than tungsten to metal carryover caused by direct current. Due to the above (alternating current in a mag), it is not unusual for the points to last 100,000 miles in a Vertex magneto.

Although the Bendix 10-357174 looks like the HC points (except for an additional bracket) and they do fit mechanically. Take a look at the movable contact and the way the sides are bent over (to give more rigidity to the movable contact) I believe the spring pressure on these points may be incorrect and too high. I am not sure of this, at this point, but I am sure there is another set of Bendix points that matches the original HC used. Check out Bendix 10-52334W

There have been numerous posts here and probably on the H.A.M.B. as well in the past on the subject of H&C points. Do a quick search by just using the name... Harmon - Collins or Harmon & Collins, and see what all comes up. Should keep you busy reading for awhile, but you will need to weed out the non pertinent info.
