Floor board weather strip?
I have been working on the cab of my 37 pickup, and noticed the metal footboard has little split pins around it. There is no material present. Does anyone know what material Ford used as a weather strip? Did they use weather strip on the wood portion of the floor as well?

Re: Floor board weather strip?
Here are some drawings that I made from Ford Archive drawings for 1935/36 truck floor boards. Ford used an anti-squeak material. They stapled it on to the wooden boards and used split pins on the metal toe board.
Hope this helps. |

Don, that is exactly what I needed, thanks for the information. Are there sources for the pins and the anti-squeak material?

Don, any idea how much difference there is between your drawings and the 33-34 arrangement?

Re: Floor board weather strip?
37 truck..Just Google "split rivets" They should do the job. Regarding the anti-squeak, I had a tight fit without any anti-squeak, So I used several layers of "friction tape" until I got the right fit.

Re: Floor board weather strip?
That was my guess, but though you might have seen the earlier drawings while doing your research. Thanks, and nice work on the drawings.
