Default Window regulator repair

While cleaning up the regulators on my 32 sport coup I inadvertently caused the lift assist spring to come loose and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to reinstall it. I have fooled with this thing for hours with no results. This is a three screw regulator. Any help appreciated.

Something seems wrong here. 1932 (coupe door) window regulators should be a double arm, 6 mount bolt style.

You're right, this is a much modified 60s hot rod. Previous owner tried to make a roadster out of it by removing the glass and cutting the top of the doors off. I have fab up new door openings similar to cabriolet. The regulators are swap meet pieces 32 pickup I think.

Don't know exactly what your spring is like but if it's like mine on my '47 this thread might help: http://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=189907

Thanks Old Henry it worked. I placed the arm in the up position and placed the spring in the pivot slot. Using water pump pliers I compressed the spring with one hand while grasping the spring hook with vice grips. I was then able to pull the spring hook into position on the anchor point. I did have the regulator held in my bench vice.
Thanks for the tip.
