Default 30 CCPU Heater Hole

What type of heater would have used this kind of hole? Want to put one back in.

Right, but are there different styles and manufacturers of the manifold heaters?

CWilson, the hole is for a aftermarket manifold heater. The one used in my picture is the Autolite. The exhaust manifold that it is setting on has a waffle type configuration which in your picture isn't the same. There is a type of autolite cover that is made for the standard exhaust manifold but I am not sure how much heat is captured compared to the waffle type. Afordman31

There were many different aftermarket manifold heaters for the Model A. I don't know of any lists of them. What you might do is borrow as many heaters as you can find to set on your engine to see if any line up with your hole. Good luck.

That's a great idea if I knew any other "A" owners. Hopefully I will be able to extend my network more as time goes by. Thanks.

I had been told that although there were many heaters made, they all had the heat exit at the same spot on the firewall. I have three and they are all the same.

Both inlets seem to be in the exact same spot.

Is this the kind of manifold you have?

Is this the one? I notice it doesn't have the trumpet end...

CWilson
I just looked up a post that I put on here 11-25-12 asking about the non waffle type of heater cover. Go to search, type in Autolite heater identification. You will see the difference in the heater covers. Afordman31
