Default rods

hey guys I just made i think a good buy from a barner a set of ford new old stock rods clawson bals out of chicago they are covered in old grease and look good. now are wrist pin bores press fit or do i have to get them reamed to fit rods are 1.484 with a shim pack in any advise would be app. esp. donts and do s

Take some pictures, if they are Clawson Bals, old stock, they should be Tin base, and a broached rod.

If they are after market Clawson and Bals, they may be lead.

Wrist pins are fit from 3 to 5 tenths of a thousandths.

If your rods are 1.484, what is your shaft size, as the measurement would be a half size bearing!!!!!!!

wrist pin bores are reamed with a special powered/lubed reamer machine.

If you hold the piston in your hand with the rod sticking straight out to the side, the rod should very gradually fall down. If the rod drops quickly, you have too much clearance.
