Original or repop starter switch cover?
A or B?
I have two different starter switch covers. I'm thinking one is a repop. How can you tell the difference? I read somewhere about the angle where the push rod assembly goes thru the cover as one difference. How about the height and curvature at the top front? I know that they shouldn't be painted Black. Thanks in advance. |

Re: Original or repop starter switch cover?
I use a large tapered drift punch driver and bend the hole to the correct angle

Re: Original or repop starter switch cover?
Just playing Devil's Advocate, I think both of the starter switches above are aftermarket. The quick way I have always determined original ones is the depth of the punched & rolled hole for the A-11469 Plunger Button to protrude thru. Note on both of the ones pictured, the rise of the rolled section is very shallow. Note the dimensions on the Ford drawing below. You might compare other dimensions to see how both of the units above compare.
