I thought "Excelsior"'s were just regular production tires that had "classic" whitewalls applied on them.

I'm probably wrong.

I've never seen Excelsiors with any sort of whitewall applied....black ONLY. As far as the 'applied' whitewalls, I believe you're thinking of Diamondback's "Auburn Premiums". Click the link BELOW! Coop

Had "Classic" radials on my 52 Victoria & it took 3 times to get them ballanced. 200 miles to get them to seal & ballance right. The bias tires that were on the car had no problems, just wanted better ride & handling. I would go Diamond Back next time.

I don't believe Coker does any tire manufacturing in house. I believe it is all outsourced.

I believe you are correct Kube. I also believe the customer service from Coker was much better when Corky Coker actually ran the place.

Thanks, Coop. Now I know I was wrong.

I got a set of 600/16 Coker Classics with a car I bought, low mileage and they had never been balanced-- so I balanced them. 2 tires took 15 3/4 oz.( that's not a misprint). The other s took 6 oz and 7 oz.- still out of round and lumpy. So I sent one back ($50 shipping) for their comment. Never heard back from them. I bought new tires and all is well now. Just my 2 cents worth, Jerry
