Default Steves Auto Restoration '33-34 deck/rumble lids

Anyone with experience using one of Steve's reproduction '33-'34 coupe/roadster steel deck/rumble lids on an original body?

Thanks.

I bought one of Steves deck lids but only the outer skin and coupled it with an original inner section. I found about 1/16" of filler was required at the lower corners to bring the lid surface flush with the lower section of the body. My guess is that there may have been some distortion when I welded the inner and outer lid sections together plus the fact that I also had to totally rebuild both body corners with lots of potential distortion there as well. I have to say I was very pleased in the end and would buy another if needed. I have had the pleasure of touring Steves operation and found it most impressive.

Hi Dave,
Not a direct answer as I have an original rumble lid but I did buy the panel above it from Steves .
The curvature side to side is NOT the same .

Rumble lid is in original paint and is decent with a few dings .
Nothing to alter it's shape .

Difference is way beyond a bondo job .

Panel looks good with proper braces for legs .
No little reinforcements for side bolts though .

Definately does not match lid though .

May want to get a template from them to check this .

Thanks all for your the responses. David, I'll ask for a template of the front edge; good suggestion.
