A top tip when dealing with fluids. This one sucks!

Hello and welcome to Mart's Garage. I needed to swap drain plugs on the big inch flatty in my 32 Sedan. How to do it without losing coolant? I remember Canadian Youtuber AvE mentioning this trick and I thought I would try it. The results were unbelievable. Really, as in I didn't believe it.

About 3:20 into the above video Mart shows a very clever way to SEE the actual fluid level in your engine/rad and forms the basis of why he's changing the petcock (see pic 2). He was onto this fluid level diagnostic while eventually finding a FUBAR head gasket.

Mart, a thought I had when I saw the finished job... I see a future where there's just lick of threads on the end of that pipe with a tire valve cap or something custom made on it. I'm thinking of sand/road grit/etc. getting up in that bugger. We all know how easy it is to swap thanks to this tech tip.
